10:30～12:00 Iwate TSUNAMI Memorial
A facility that conveys lessons learned from tsunami disasters. You can also enjoy a walk in the adjacent reconstruction prayer park.
12:00～13:00 Lunch at the Road Station
Enjoy dishes made with local ingredients, such as a seafood bowl at the road station adjacent to the Tsunami Memorial.
13:00～15:30 Katribe Storytelling Cycling Tour
Visit remains left after the earthquake and the agricultural, mountain and fishing villages with the storyteller, as you view the scars of the earthquake and how the locals live today.
16:00 Stay overnight at Capital Hotel 1000
Due to the tsunami damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the hotel was relocated to a hill in November 2013 and business resumed. You can see the sea and mountains from the guest rooms. For dinner, you can enjoy the ingredients unique to Sanriku, which is also one of the three major fishing grounds in the world.
10:00～12:00 Story of Survival told by a Kataribe Story teller
On the day of the tsunami, he evacuated to a small space above the rooftop chimney of his building as the 14 meters high wave hit. This storyteller will bring you to the spot where he survived, and passionately tell you his tale of survival. As you hear his words and imagine his experience, you will gain a better understanding of the danger of a tsunami and the importance of life.
