Enjoy the beauty and scenery of the sea and forests, and the exquisite gourmet seafood while hiking through a town that coexists with the nature of the Sanriku Rias coast and the blessings the sea has to offer. This land full of natural beauty has been damaged by many tsunamis such as the 1896 Meiji Sanriku Tsunami, the 1933 Sanriku Tsunami, and the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, but it is also a town that has taken a step towards teaching about tsunami disaster prevention.
